As the Development Team Lead, you will be playing a key role in our crawler team. The crawler team owns a highly scalable, distributed and flexible crawler architecture that processes hundreds of millions of data points every day.  We are looking for a team lead that gets energy from the team’s success, leading by example, investing time in coaching and mentoring of team members and is a true believer in our ‘never stop learning’ value. Next to team and project management you will focus on shaping the crawler architecture and hands-on development.

We are organized as agile teams using Kanban. Our development teams own their domain with a high degree of autonomy which means that you can shape the processes within the team.

Technology stack: RabbitMQ, Terraform, AWS, Scala, Kubernetes

Key responsibilities

  • Coaching and mentoring the team, both on a technical and personal level

  • Fostering a happy and productive team

  • Being the link between the team, the business and Product Managers

  • Overseeing implementation of technical architecture with the Software Architect

  • Creating and driving team processes to enable the team to plan, report and deliver work



We are looking for a process-driven people manager who enjoys guiding a diverse and driven team of developers, ranging from junior to senior. You’ll mentor and coach your team members in developing their professional skills, and ensure that the team atmosphere is optimal. You embrace the agile methodology and set a high-quality bar for yourself and your team.

What are we looking for?

  • Reliable knowledge of Scala, Java, C#, or any typed language

  • Strong (proven) management skills and passion for people management

  • Solid background working with project structure and software architecture

  • Good reporting skills

  • Excellent organization & planning skills

  • Hands-on experience in a distributed systems environment

  • Entrepreneurial attitude with a strong sense of ownership and determination to get things done. You build it, you own it!
