With the business expansion and the demand for financial sustainability and compliance, we are looking forward to welcoming a Financial Controller to join our Finance team.
Profile
As a Financial Controller, you will play a key role in our Finance department. You will be responsible for the financial administration including P&L, balance sheet, cash, and all associated processes of our German entitity. Your primary responsibility is to make sure the entire financial administration is flawless and in addition, you will support management in various important projects to streamline and automate financial processes and prepare future growth. That means that you:
Are responsible for all bookkeeping activities
Ensure the execution of the daily transactions are done accordingly
Run all Debtor and Creditor management
Ensure statutory requirements are met
Complete VAT and other filings
Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting
Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance
Reconcile bank and investment accounts
Support the cash flow management and credit control activities
Assist with reporting on SaaS metrics such as MRR, churn, and upsells
Prepare supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the Board's Audit Committee and external auditors
Participation in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to German GAAP and IFRS (eg impairment test)
Continuously define process updates to ensure the finance function becomes more efficient and adds value to the entire organization
Additionally, a considerable amount of your time will be spent on projects to support growth. Over the coming period, you will be working on:
Setup and management of consolidation across (international) entities
Setup of financial administration for international expansion
Implementation of new reporting and invoicing tools
Various other exciting projects to support senior management on topics like pricing, margin improvement, liquidity planning, and the budget & forecasting process
You are a team player with a high level of ownership and responsibility. You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment and don’t shy away from a challenge. You are capable of constantly zooming in and out: zoom in to roll up your sleeves and make sure all operational tasks are completed and zoom out to think of process efficiencies and workflow streamline strategies. And finally, you like to have some fun throughout the process!
Apart from that, you have:
3+ years of relevant experience as a Financial Controller, Accountant, or Finance Manager, preferably gained from a dynamic and technology-driven environment in Germany, or with a German entity
Bachelor degree in the fields of Finance, Accounting, or Business
Hands-on experience managing financial administration of a company, including bookkeeping, VAT statements, financial reporting and analysis, and similar
Experience in the introduction of reporting systems
Have an analytical mindset and process improvement attitude
Excellent knowledge of MS Excel
Fluent in English and in German (business level)
