Job description

The main responsibility of the Frontend Developer at Omnia Retai is the production, modification, and maintenance of our customer facing SPA.


The customer facing portal is a modern Angular application written in Typescript and using SASS to manage the styling. Our backend APIs and data processing pipelines are written in C# and we are in the process of migrating from .NET Framework to .NET Core. These are hosted on a mix of virtual machines and k8s in Azure, and bare metal. We use a number of different persistence backends including Couchbase, MSSQL Server, Elasticsearch, and Redis. We use git (bitbucket) for source control, TeamCity for CI, and Octopus for CD.


As a Frontend Developer you will be working within an international scrum team of talented back-end developers, and you will be responsible for the application frontend.


Key responsibilities of this position are:


  • Working closely with the product and back end teams to plan, prioritize and implement new features
  • Overseeing the feature backlog and working through it systematically
  • Solving legacy code puzzles and working towards high quality and scalable code
  • Owning and continuously improving the UI
  • Proactively proposing improvements to the product
  • Implementing robust testing

Requirements

We are looking for a new colleague who is eager to truly own the frontend and UI of our application, you need to be proactive and resilient, used to work in a very international environment and willing to learn and grow with us.


  • Solid grasp of HTML, CSS and CSS preprocessors. We prefer and use SASS
  • Strong knowledge of Angular + Typescript (5+ years frontend development experience)
  • Good git skills and comfortable with its CLI
  • Comfortable with using Windows as a development platform
  • Comfortable working with CICD automation
  • Working knowledge of Docker and k8s is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Powershell is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
