Job description

Demand for Omnia software is rising quickly in Europe. After successful launches with most of the large retailers in the Netherlands, and with significant funding from an external firm, Omnia’s ready to expand and send the sales team across Europe. To do this, we need an Amsterdam-based Sales Director to manage the team, grow the business, and build a SaaS sales machine. As Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for guiding the sales team and BDRs and will report directly to the CEO of Omnia.  

What are we facing?
Thanks to the impact of pricing and marketing automation, sell-in of Omnia is almost always at board level of medium-sized retailers (10-100MM in annual sales) and often one level below board level at large-sized retailers (100MM+ in annual sales). As a result of the nature of the product, the sales process is very much a consultative selling process. Sales cycles are typically 3-9 months.

What it comes down to

  • Create a best-in-class SaaS sales machine that guarantees Omnia delivers on its aggressive growth targets
  • Ensure MRR targets—and more granular targets—such as inbound response times, daily outbound outreaches, conversion rates, and more, are set and achieved in line with company objectives.
  • Manage, coach and further build out the Sales team, consisting of Sales Managers and BDRs
  • Ensure both the Inbound and Outbound Sales processes operate smoothly
  • Agree on a Marketing SLA with the Marketing team and making sure the Sales Team delivers on the Sales SLA it has agreed with the Marketing team
  • Make sure the Sales team functions well as part of the broader Go-To-Market team that also consists of the Marketing and Customer Success functions. For example, Marketing generates marketing qualified leads which BDRs follow up on. The Sales Managers that close the deals must ensure a smooth transition to the Customer Success Team, that will ensure the clients actually get value from the software.
  • Develop and implement sales initiatives, strategies and programs to win key clients
  • Represent Omnia at relevant networking and industry events as required
  • Ensure accurate reporting on progress towards KPIs and utilise process-supporting tools like Hubspot + Betterworks to achieve organizational goals
  • Have a clear view of the market and competitors and be a trusted adviser to our (potential) clients
  • Provide input to Omnia's Management Team with regards to the optimal international roll-out strategy

Go-to-market team
The Sales Director is part of the Go-To-Market Team and reports to our Founder & CEO Sander Roose. The team consists of a BDR, Account Executive Benelux & UK, Solution Consultants, a Growth Marketer, Content Marketer, Visual Designer, Customer Success Director and Customer Success Manager. Within the next few months the Go-To-Market Team will expand with a Sales Manager France & DACH region, Enterprise Account Manager, SMB Account Manager, and consultants.

  • Education on a University level
  • Excellent presentation and listening skills
  • Proven prior experience in building a strong sales team
  • Able to motivate and move people
  • Ability to connect business problems to a technical solutions, together with a commercial understanding
  • Passion for winning and ability to close a deal
  • Thorough understanding of SaaS dynamics and proven experience in SaaS sales with similar sales cycles and ACVs
  • Strong communicator in Dutch and English both written and oral. German and/or French are a plus.
